In every school band there are exceptional student performers that need an extra performance environment to motivate and challenge them. The Whiskey Hill Jazz Club has provided such an environment for jazz students in the Willamette Valley. Students from Canby, Oregon City, West Linn, Lake Oswego, Woodburn, Salem, and a host of other communities have come together once a week to experience America's greatest original art form.

Over the past fifteen years the program has blossomed under the direction of Clark H. Bondy. The Whiskey Hill Jazz Club, a private parent supported organization, now sponsors a jr. high big band, sr. high big band, and two levels of jazz clinics during the summer.

The band has performed in jazz festivals at Mt. Hood Community College, Clackamas Community College, University of Portland, University of Oregon, Lionel Hampton in Idaho, Reno Nevada, as well as hosting its own unique outdoor Jazz Festival annually in Canby.

We also provide music at many community events throughout the year for clients such as the Clackamas County Fair, Canby Wine Festival, Fir Point Farms, General Canby Days Parade, Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival, Canby Chamber of Commerce Christmas Tree Lighting & Slice of Summer Concert Series, Nike Masters Games, Aurora Colony Days, Mentor Graphics, Wilsonville Chamber of Commerce, Rural Postal Workers of America, Oregon First for Children, Canby Saturday Market, and Disneyland.

Our desire is to supplement what area band directors are already doing. As a result, the students school band program takes first priority and enrollment in school band is required.

Jr. High Band:
Piano, Bass, Drums, Trombones, Trumpets, Tenor Sax, Bari sax, Guitar

Sr. High Band:
Trumpets, Drums

Rehearsals Are Mondays (September-May)
5:00pm-6:45pm Jr. High
6:45pm-8:30pm Sr. High

Cost is $50 a month dues September-May
(the band continues to do concerts and performances throughout the summer with whomever happens to be in town for each particular performace, but does not have a weekly rehearsal)
